The lady suddenly felt so discontented and kept asking herself whether she does not deserve something better. Why should she live like a nurse tending to a faltering household, trying to be content; while she could go to her own battle and win her own glory, just like another lady did in ancient days? and perhaps after the battle she would find someone who deserves her. For even after hearing all those good discourses on the duty of a wife, she was still inside her heart a little girl full of dreams and hopes, who still seek glory, majesty and renown. And she began to doubt those who say that such hopes are against humility, a virtue so valued by her Lord. For surely a lily in the valley was not at fault to cherish her own beauty, as long as she remembered that she was a mere creature?
